CONGRATULATING Supervisor Richard B. Lucia upon
the occasion of his retirement after 28 years of
distinguished service to the Town of Corinth, New
York
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge outstanding individuals within our midst who
have made significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, A great community is only as great as those persons and
organizations that provide exemplary service, whether through good
citizenship or through public service and leadership in their community;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Supervisor Richard B. Lucia upon the occasion of his
retirement after 28 years of distinguished service to the Town of
Corinth; and
WHEREAS, Richard B. Lucia was born on June 1, 1940, in Corinth where
he graduated from high school in 1957; shortly thereafter, he began his
long and distinguished career with International Paper; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to the place he has always called home, Richard
B. Lucia was appointed Town Supervisor of Corinth in 1993, the position
from which he will officially retire in 2021; and
WHEREAS, During this time, Supervisor Richard B. Lucia was actively
involved with the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors, serving as
Chairman in 1999; from 1994-2002, he had served on approximately 23
different county committees; and
WHEREAS, For 28 years, Richard B. Lucia rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Town of Corinth, earning the
admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Richard B. Lucia served his
constituents fairly and honestly, always doing what was in the best
interest of those he represented; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Richard B. Lucia upon the occasion of his retirement after
28 years of distinguished service to the Town of Corinth, New York, and
to wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Supervisor Richard B. Lucia.
