Assemblyman Angelo Morinello (R,C,I-Niagara Falls) joined local seniors from Schoellkopf Nursing Home and Meals on Wheels to kick off his sixth annual “Valentines for Seniors” event. This year’s program features 16 local elementary schools making valentines for seniors in the community who are in assisted living facilities.
“For the better part of two years, countless seniors across this state have been too afraid to leave the house for fear of catching COVID-19,” said Morinello. “Before the pandemic, many older adults turned to community organizations and senior centers for social connections, meals, transportation and other services. This event is a unique opportunity to show seniors some extra love this Valentine’s Day. I hope by continuing this annual program we can spread cheer from our fantastic schools to many seniors in our community who have experienced isolation.”
