Morinello Helps Bring New Craft Brewery to Wheatfield

Today, Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello (R,C,I,Ref-Niagara Falls) received word that a new craft brewery will be constructed in the Town of Wheatfield’s Summit Park Mall complex. Thanks to a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Big Thunder Brewing Company will receive the funding it needs to construct a new brewery in the mall’s vacant Save-A-Lot. This block grant of $750,000 was made available as part of this year’s budget, an aspect Morinello is proud to have been in favor of.

“I am thrilled that funding from this year’s state budget has been approved to assist in bringing Big Thunder Brewing Company to the Summit Mall,” said Morinello. “Our district is rife with opportunities for businesses to reutilize spaces already present, and I applaud the coordination of all the parties responsible for helping to bring Big Thunder Brewing to this once vacant property. I look forward to this new business becoming a major contributor to our community.”

The entire project will cost about $3 million to be completed, while creating approximately 50 new jobs and an opening date scheduled for the early part of 2018.
