Assemblymember Lavine Pens Letter to Nassau County Legislature Urging Investigation of Corruption

North Shore, New York – New York State Assembly Judiciary Chairman Charles Lavine (D-North Shore) has written a letter to Richard Nicolello, Presiding Officer of the Nassau County Legislature in which he urges the Public Safety Committee to investigate allegations of corruption within the Nassau County Police Department. The letter comes amid recent revelations of alleged wrongdoing by at least one detective, Hector Rosario, who was fired for his involvement with members of the Genovese and Bonanno crime families.

In his letter, Lavine calls the federal charges against the officer “alarming” and a “significant threat,” writing, “Every citizen of Nassau County has reason to fear danger when our public servants, including law enforcement officers, engage in corruption.”
