Glen Cove, New York – New York State Assemblymember Charles Lavine (D-North Shore) has issued the following statement in response to a social media post by President Donald Trump featuring former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, as primates in a jungle:

“Americans of good faith are disgusted by this blatantly racist video. It is nauseating to realize that our current president is so utterly devoid of basic human decency as to post something as disgusting as this on his social media page, and it is utterly bizarre to imagine what may be next on his agenda. This display is uniquely un-American.”
