Lavine Leads Book Discussion on “In Our Prime: The Invention of Middle Age” by Patricia Cohen at the Glen Cove Library

Glen Cove, New York – Assemblymember Charles D. Lavine (D-Glen Cove) leads a book discussion surrounding the topic of Aging and Growing. Assemblymember Lavine has been at the forefront of change and believes in making a change through community work.

“This event was a great way to open up a discussion about the struggles that the seniors face in this day and age," said Lavine. “The seniors in our community are a priority to me and they should be a priority to everyone”

Assemblymember Lavine has always given attention to the needs of the senior community. Last year he was able to provide the Glen Cove Senior Center with grants that were used to fund crucial programs for the center.

While the even was a great discussion on the topic of aging the constituents and community members present delved into many other exciting subjects. Many of the attendees were discussing their excitement on the topic of new developments and businesses coming into Glen Cove. While other attendees emphasized the great community connection that is present in Glen Cove with constituents, businesses, and community organizations.

This event was made possible thanks to the Glen Cove SAGE Foundation and a grant given to them by Humanities New York in partnership with the National Endowment for the Humanities.
