Assemblyman Braunstein’s Statement on the Judiciary Committee's Ongoing Impeachment Investigation

"On August 9, 2021, the NYS Assembly Judiciary Committee, on which I serve, met to continue its thorough review of numerous allegations against Governor Cuomo, and is moving forward swiftly to prepare potential impeachment proceedings. The committee's ongoing review includes an investigation into the troubling sexual harassment allegations outlined in Attorney General Letitia James' report. I want to recognize the courage of the 11 women who came forward to speak of their experiences and bring the allegations outlined in the Attorney General's report to light.

Moving forward, I will work with Chair Lavine and my colleagues to deliver a fair and comprehensive impeachment investigation to the State Legislature as soon as possible. To ensure the integrity of the ongoing investigation, I will refrain from commenting further at this time and focus my attention on reviewing the extensive evidence and witness testimony that will be presented to the committee by independent reviewers in the coming weeks."
