Assemblyman Edward C. Braunstein (D-Bayside) is happy to announce his annual Halloween Essay & Poetry Contest, open to students in grades two through five who live or go to school in Assembly District 26. District-wide prizes will be awarded to the winner in each grade and New York State Assembly Certificates of Merit will be awarded to all students who participate.
The essay or poem should have a Halloween theme, such as an account of the student’s favorite trick or treat experience, or a short story or poem related to Halloween.
Contest rules may be accessed here.
“I’m delighted to invite Northeast Queens students to get creative and display their writing skills this holiday by sharing a Halloween-themed essay or poem with my office,” said Assemblyman Edward Braunstein. “I look forward to reading your entries as we prepare to celebrate the holiday.”
If a student is interested in participating, they are asked to please print their full name, grade, and school on their entry. Essays and poems may be submitted to Assemblyman Braunstein’s office by mail to 213-33 39th Avenue, Suite 238, Bayside, NY 11361, email to email@example.com, or fax to 718-357-5947.
