Ra Attends Economic Development Hearing, Calls Out Empire State Development Failures

A Statement by Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square), ranking Minority member on the Assembly Ways and Means Committee.

“Taxpayer-funded programs administered by Empire State Development repeatedly fail to produce real, measurable results. In fact, based on an independent report, only five of the twenty-five tax credit programs analyzed had a positive return on investment. We cannot keep throwing money at economic development initiatives that promise growth but deliver little in return. New Yorkers want to see their tax dollars put to work in ways that strengthen our economy, create sustainable jobs and make the state more affordable for them and their families. Unfortunately, that’s not what we’re getting right now.”
