Assemblyman Ed Ra Presents Italian American Legislators Scholarship to New Hyde Park Memorial High School Valedictorian Marco Valle

Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) today presented the Assemblyman James D. Conte Memorial Academic Scholarship to Marco Valle, a senior at New Hyde Park Memorial High School and the school’s Class of 2025 valedictorian. The scholarship, awarded by the New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators, recognizes outstanding academic achievement, community involvement and leadership. Alongside a citation from the New York State Assembly, Marco received a check in recognition of his accomplishments.

“Marco’s exceptional academic record and leadership within his school and community make him a deserving recipient of this award,” said Ra. “Leaders like Marco are a reminder that the next generation is ready to meet the challenges ahead.”

Marco is known among peers and faculty as a dedicated and well-rounded student. With an outstanding GPA of 102.85, he has pursued a rigorous course load including Advanced Placement Program and accelerated classes. He serves as president of the Class of 2025, treasurer of the Student Council, a history tutor and Features editor of the school newspaper, The Chariot.

Marco has also been a standout leader in New Hyde Park’s award-winning Model United Nations team, earning Best Delegate honors for his debate skills. As a Boy Scout and troop instructor with Troop 544, he helped restore the Tanglewood Preserve in Lakeview and completed his Eagle Scout project by fundraising and building three custom podiums for the school’s Model United Nations chapter. The summer before 10th grade, he secured a campaign internship with former Rep. Tom Suozzi.

“It’s great to see someone Marco’s age already so eager to get involved in public service,” Ra continued. “You can tell he has a real passion for how government works and making a difference. I’m excited to see where the road takes him.”

Marco plans to spend part of his summer traveling through Italy before beginning his college career.
