Ra Remembers Former Senator Carl Marcellino
A Statement by Assembly Minority Leader Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square)
“The news of Carl Marcellino’s passing is deeply saddening for all who knew him, for those who had the privilege of serving alongside him and for the Nassau County communities he cared about so deeply.
Carl and I served together in the New York State Legislature for several years, representing many of the same communities. His thoughtful approach to public service was shaped in large part by his 20-year career as a teacher and school administrator in New York City. He understood the importance of leadership and preparation, and he brought both to his work in Albany every day.
Before joining the state Senate, Carl also served as Oyster Bay Town Clerk, continuing a long record of local service. His devotion to our region and its residents was clear in everything he did.
I extend my sincere condolences to his wife, Patricia, and to their family. My thoughts are with them and our Long Island communities as they remember a life dedicated to public service.”
