Assemblyman Ed Ra (21st Assembly District) recently joined the first-grade class at Cornwell Elementary School to celebrate Flag Day. During his visit, Assemblyman Ra shared the story of Betsy Ross and the first flag with the students.

“While Flag Day is not celebrated as grandly as other holidays, like the Fourth of July, celebrating our flag instills in our children a sense of honor and tradition,” said Ra. “The flag is known worldwide as a symbol of our great nation and the values we hold dear. It was a joy spending time with this wonderful group of young students and a pleasure sharing the story of Betsy Ross and the first flag with them.”
