Slater Calls for the Immediate Release of Hostages in Gaza
Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C-Yorktown) participated in a press conference organized by the New York Chapter of “Run for Their Lives” to demand the release of 134 hostages held in Gaza. Among these hostages are two New Yorkers who have been held since the terrorist attacks on Oct. 7. These individuals, including men, women, elders and children, have been separated from their families for 179 days, enduring unjust captivity.
“Following the October 7 attacks, Rabbi Robbie Weiner of Temple Beth Am reminded me the support for our Jewish neighbors would be needed in the weeks and months ahead, which is why I continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with our Jewish brothers and sisters,” Slater explained. “There should be no political divide in ensuring the safe and immediate return of the 134 hostages who continue to be held against their will and in violation of international law. We will not stop until each one is released and those responsible are held accountable.”
