Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages Distributes Dates and Holy Water to Community Members to Kick Off Ramadan
Elmont, NY – On Sunday, March 2, 2025, Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages, accompanied by Legislator Carrie Solages and Valley Stream community member Shakeel Rahman, joined community members to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan by distributing bags of dates and ZamZam holy water outside Masjid Hamza Islamic Center in Valley Stream and Muhammadi Masjid in Elmont.
“Ramadan is a time of reflection, devotion, and community,” said Assemblywoman Solages. “By distributing dates and Zamzam water, we honor the traditions of Ramadan and show our support for our Muslim neighbors.”
The annual distribution occurs during the first weekend of Ramadan, reinforcing the Assemblywoman’s commitment to recognizing and uplifting diverse cultural and religious traditions. Assemblywoman Solages emphasized the importance of inclusivity and ensuring that all residents feel seen and supported during significant observances.
