Valley Stream, NY — April 11th, 2025 — ReWild Long Island, in partnership with the Village of Valley Stream, is thrilled to announce the official opening of the Valley Stream Garden with a special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and First Native Plantings on Sunday, May 4th at 10 AM. The event will take place at the ReWild Garden at Valley Stream, located across from 200 E. Hawthorne Avenue, Valley Stream.

The community is invited to join in this exciting milestone as we plant the first native perennials in this beautiful new garden space, dedicated to nurturing local wildlife and fostering environmental stewardship. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in planting, celebrate the garden’s launch, and enjoy light refreshments.

Special guests include Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages, along with local leaders, partners, and community supporters of the new garden. This vibrant garden aims to create a gathering space for rewilders and gardeners to connect, cultivate sustainable practices, and promote biodiversity through thoughtful plantings, including the creation of a new bioswale to help manage stormwater.
