Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages celebrated the opening of new playgrounds at James A. Dever and Howell Road elementary schools, made possible through state funding she secured.

Valley Stream, NY – Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages joined students, educators and school leaders to celebrate the opening of two new playgrounds at James A. Dever Elementary School and Howell Road Elementary School. The new play spaces were made possible through state funding secured by Assemblywoman Solages.

“These playgrounds represent an investment in our children’s ability to play and explore,” said Assemblywoman Solages. “Every student deserves a safe and welcoming environment to build friendships and enjoy being a child. Seeing the students enjoy it for the first time was the greatest start to the school year I could have asked for.

“I am humbled to have had the opportunity to secure the funding that brought these projects to life,” the Assemblywoman added. “And I thank the Valley Stream District 13 community for its partnership.”

The new playgrounds will provide students at both schools with modern, engaging spaces for outdoor activity and recreation. Assemblywoman Solages remains committed to working with local school districts to improve educational facilities and expand opportunities for students throughout the 22nd Assembly District.
