"It is an extreme risk protection order initiative, but what I consider today to be the Scott Beagle Red Flag Law, because it is a commonsense, proactive initiative that will keep guns out of the hands of the people who should not have them," said Assemblyman Stern, discussing legislation he helped pass to allow courts to issue an extreme risk protection order (ERPO) and prohibit a person who is determined to be a threat to themselves or others from purchasing or possessing a firearm (A.2689).
