"Almost every problem we face in health and health care in New York is made worse and harder to solve because our healthcare system is almost totally dependent on insurance companies. The Affordable Care Act has made some things better, but it basically left us in the hands of insurance companies… Enacting the New York Health Act is really the one and only way that New York can protect its people and make sure that health care is a right and not a privilege," said Assembly Health Committee Chair Richard Gottfried, prime sponsor of the bill."   (A-4738)
