Assemblymember Phil Steck member of the Committee on Health joined the committee on Corrections questioning Anthony J. Annucci, Acting Commissioner of the New York State Department of Corrections & Community Supervision asking, "If a county jail decides we're going to contract down to a medical provider like correctional medical services, who makes sure that that entity is providing the type of medical care that the state would deem acceptable?" during public hearing to examine health care issues in state and local correctional facilities, including adequacy of care, treatment of communicable diseases, women's health care, administering medication, long-term care, use of for-profit health care contractors, health care facility placements for inmates leaving incarceration, and potential Medicaid coverage for incarcerated individuals.  PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
