Angelo Santabarbara is a first generation Italian-American and a lifelong resident of Schenectady County, currently residing in the Town of Rotterdam. He and his wife are raising their two children there. After graduating high school, Angelo served in the United States Army Reserves and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Albany. He is a Professional Engineer and was elected to the Schenectady County Legislature in 2007 where he served as Chairman of the Transportation Committee. Angelo serves on the Board of Directors for the Autism Society of the Greater Capital Region. He started a cheese-making company and donates all profits to local children’s charities. He also serves as Commander of AMVETS Post 35 in Rotterdam. This year, Angelo was elected to the New York State Assembly to be the first Assemblyman to represent the newly created 111th District, including Montgomery, Schenectady and Albany Counties.
