"Like any other sport that people are involved with, whether it be football or boxing or any sport, people have a passion for this. They are doing it, they're training here in New York State but they have to travel out of state to compete professionally. They never got to play the home game. This will give them a chance to play the home game. They've always had to play the away game. They had to bring family and friends and neighbors along with them just to get some support in neighboring states like Pennsylvania, New Jersey, all the states around us," said Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, speaking in support of legislation that would legalize mixed martial arts in New York State.
