A Nightmare For New York Taxpayers

Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora) is disappointed by the Assembly’s decision to pass the New York DREAM Act yesterday, having been a vocal critic of the legislation.

“Yesterday, the Assembly Majority Conference wrote a blank check from the New York taxpayers to illegal aliens. We cannot afford to foot the bill of those who have no respect for our immigration system. The people of New York have a hard enough time making ends meet. We do not need to further burden them with paying for someone else’s children to go to school. I hope that the Senate refuses to take this up and saves the taxpayers of New York millions of dollars,” DiPietro said. “Lawful residents of our state are going to see their children pushed aside and denied a world-class education in favor of illegal aliens. That should not, and must not happen.”

The DREAM Act would provide funds for illegal aliens to attend college at taxpayer expense. For more information regarding the assemblyman, please contact his district office at (585) 786-0180. The assemblyman can also be found on Facebook as Assemblyman David DiPietro.
