DiPietro: Let Us Be Representatives Of Our Districts

Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora) joined fellow members of the Assembly Minority Conference at a press conference in support of the Sensible Opportunity for Legislative Equality (SOLE) Act (A 2747). The legislation would guarantee every legislator that one of their bills will be heard on the floor without needing to pass through a committee.

“I want to devolve power back to the counties. Should the SOLE Act pass, I would put forward legislation for home rule” DiPietro said. “It’s time for the counties to stop being forced by elites at the Capitol to pay for programs they don’t need. The SAFE Act is a perfect example; 53 counties have voted to opt out, and yet, their voices are being ignored. Albany needs to stop pretending it knows best.”
