Barclay Applauds Governor for Including Nuclear in State Policy

The following is a statement from Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I-Pulaski) following an article in the New York Times which reported the Governor's change in energy policy to better support nuclear energy:

"Nuclear power plays a vital role in upstate New York, particularly in Oswego County and Central New York. I am pleased that the Governor is putting forth a plan that recognizes nuclear power for its reliability, its capacity, and for being a carbon-free source of energy. I have been advocating that we incorporate nuclear power in the state's energy policy plans, and I applaud the Governor on his plan to do so. I am optimistic that the state's recognition of the importance of nuclear power will help keep plants like FitzPatrick operating and save the good-paying jobs that these plants provide,” said Barclay.
