Tague Joins Congressional Delegation Demanding Documents on Cuomo's Covid-19 Nursing Home Scandal

Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie) stands in firm support of congressional efforts to demand documents and a briefing from the Cuomo administration regarding the Department of Health’s decision to place COVID-19 positive patients in nursing homes. Tague has been calling for an independent investigation in the Department of Health’s handling of nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic following thousands of COVID-19-related deaths within these facilities.

“The loss of life we suffered in our nursing homes is unprecedented and cannot be swept under the rug,” said Tague. “We need to know what led to this unthinkable tragedy, not to “point fingers,” as the governor likes to say, but to make sure we never have to endure this again. Placing COVID-19-positive patients among our most vulnerable New Yorkers flies in the face of common sense, and all of the families who lost parents and grandparents because of this decision deserve to know what influenced the governor and the Department of Health to implement these dangerous directives.”
