Tague Rallies against Cuomo's Persisting Emergency Powers

Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie) is leading the charge among his Minority colleagues to end Gov. Cuomo’s emergency powers in a letter written by the Minority state legislators. While the governor’s emergency powers are not set to expire until April of 2021, Tague and other Minority politicians believe the governor’s emergency powers have persisted beyond their necessity.

“As our state reopens and our lives return to normal, our government must return to normal as well,” said Tague. “Facilitating the recovery of the many diverse regions of this state is too big a job for one man, and it’s past time we return to proper governance with three co-equal branches and give the people of our state representation by the officials they entrusted to stand up for their needs and interests.”
