LUCHA Funding Applications Now Open to Support Community-Based Organizations Across New York State
Applications due by November 10, 2025
Informational webinar scheduled for Friday, October 31
New York, NY – The Hispanic Federation, Fund for the City of New York, and Catholic Charities of New York are proud to announce the opening of the LUCHA (Latinos United for Change Coalition) Funding Application, an initiative dedicated to strengthening the capacity of community-based organizations (CBOs) that serve New York’s diverse and underserved communities. Applications are due by 11:59 PM on Monday, November 10, 2025.
As the demand for culturally and linguistically relevant services continues to grow, this collaborative funding effort seeks to equip nonprofits with the resources needed to expand programming in language access, civic engagement, workforce training, and educational initiatives. By supporting organizations on the frontlines, the LUCHA initiative aims to fill critical service gaps and uplift vulnerable populations across the state. The grant term runs from January 1-December 31, 2026.
The LUCHA program seeks to improve socio-economic outcomes by supporting the following areas of work:
- Language Access: Programs such as English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes, translation services for medical and non-medical appointments, and other language support services.
- Civic Education: Initiatives including citizenship preparation, civic education, volunteer and community service programs, and nonpartisan nonprofit capacity-building training.
- Workforce Training: Programs focused on workforce development, digital skilling, and job placement.
- Educational Initiatives: Efforts such as K–12 enrichment and support programs, college readiness, parent training, mentorship, and tutoring.

To assist potential applicants, partners will host an informational webinar on Friday, October 31 at 10:00AM, offering an overview of eligibility, funding priorities, and application guidance. Interested organizations are encouraged to attend the webinar and apply for LUCHA funding.
