Making Amsterdam a Better, Safer, And Greener Community

An additional $1.6 million in funding that I helped secure in last year’s state budget will help make smart and innovative improvements to our city’s infrastructure by upgrading outdated software, making the switch to LED lights, funding healthcare services, and purchasing a new ambulance, among other benefits.

The switch to LED lights would make the city of Amsterdam more environmentally friendly and save taxpayers 50-60% in energy costs. They’ll also last longer and require less maintenance than the current lights, making them a smart long-term investment.

The funds intended for software upgrades will streamline the city’s payroll system and make it more efficient by integrating codes, building inspection information, and fire department activities, as well as converting the mapping technology of the city’s water infrastructure.

These funds will go a long way to making Amsterdam a better, safer, and greener community to live in while also saving taxpayers their money. I’m excited to get the ball rolling on these new initiatives that will only further the significant revitalization that is taking place thanks to the people and businesses that call this city home.
