Assemblyman Santabarbara to Tour Pine Ridge Industries in Recognition of Manufacturing Day in Conjunction with National Disability Awareness Month

Assemblyman Angelo announced he will be touring Pine Ridge Industries on Friday, October 7, at 11 a.m. in recognition of Manufacturing Day.

Manufacturing Day, held annually on the first Friday in October, helps show the range of modern manufacturing careers by encouraging thousands of companies and educational institutions around the nation to open their doors to students, parents, teachers and community leaders. It is manufacturing’s biggest annual opportunity to inspire the next generation, positively shift perceptions about the industry, and build the foundation for the manufacturing workforce of the future. It empowers manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.

Pine Ridge Industries, a division of Schenectady ARC, employs an adaptable skilled workforce to help manufacturing companies streamline in-house operations and reduce lead times by improving throughput with our product and parts assembly, kitting, and fulfillment services. Assemblyman Santabarbara championed a new law that establishes a voluntary training and certification program for employers who have taken the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) Employability Pledge (A.8915-B) encouraging more businesses to utilize an inclusive adaptable skilled workforce.
