“I’m shocked to see the New York State Thruway Authority come has come out with with yet another toll hike proposal today while families are still struggling with the effects of inflation and rising costs.
On December 5th, the Thruway Authority Board will vote on this outrageous proposal that includes a 5% increase in NY E-ZPass toll rates, as well as rates which are 75% higher for non-E-ZPass customers, making commuting and traveling more expensive. Working families shouldn’t be further burdened during these difficult times.
Clearly the Thruway Authority is out of touch with the times we are living in, that why I’ve introduced new legislation to enact a much-needed 2-year toll-hike freeze. I urge the governor and state legislature to reject this proposal and take action to help New Yorkers keep more of their hard-earned money where it belongs – in their pockets.”
