Assemblyman Santabarbara Joins Amsterdam Officials to Unveil State-of-the-Art Video Surveillance System for City Parks
Enhancing public safety with cutting-edge smart camera technology
Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara will join City of Amsterdam Mayor Michael Cinquanti, Amsterdam Police Department Chief John J. Thomas, APD Lieutenant Spencer, and representatives from Shepard Communication for a press conference to unveil and demonstrate a new state-of-the-art video surveillance system installed throughout Veterans Park, Shuttleworth Park, and other areas in the City of Amsterdam. The new system, funded by Assemblyman Santabarbara’s $55,000 grant, uses smart camera technology to enhance public safety, prevent crime, and assist law enforcement in locating lost loved ones, including children or individuals with cognitive disabilities such as dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
This initiative highlights Assemblyman Santabarbara’s commitment to fostering a safer, more secure environment for our community. The system will also act as a valuable tool in preventing criminal activities and enabling faster resolution of incidents.
