Santabarbara Secures Over $700,000 to Replace Route 443 Bridge Over Fox Creek

Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara (D-Rotterdam) announced a local road project will be funded with capital he secured through the NY Works capital program.

“It’s no secret that Capital Region roads and bridges have seen better days and our communities can’t afford to keep footing the bill to repair or replace aging infrastructure,” said Santabarbara. “The New York Works program is helping to make our region a safer place to live, work and do business without placing an extra burden on local taxpayers.”

In the Town of Berne, the bridge located at the intersection of Route 443 and Fox Creek will be replaced at a cost of $726,000.

Santabarbara noted that the New York Works program is funded as part of the 2013-14 NYS Budget. The money is used to supplement the existing state road and bridge capital plan in order to fast track priority projects identified by state Department of Transportation’s regional offices.
