Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara (D-Rotterdam) is reminding Schenectady County residents, who have unnecessary, unused or expired prescription drugs, to participate in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, October 26. “Nothing good comes from holding onto non-essential prescription medications,” Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara said. “Safely and responsibly disposing of these drugs makes sure that they won’t fall into the hands of the wrong individuals.” According to the United States Department of Justice’s Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Take Back Initiative aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while educating the general public about the potential for abuse of such drugs. Collection sites for Schenectady County are open on Saturday, October 26 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and are as follows:
