Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora) has introduced Assembly Bills 6473 and 6479, which would provide for the “Campaign Medal for Service” to be awarded to those who have provided military service in Afghanistan and Iraq.

“These brave men and women have served their country with great distinction and honor. The State of New York should recognize their service and celebrate their commitment to patriotism,” DiPietro said. “When these men and women return home to New York they deserve to be recognized by their home state, and I am hoping to get that accomplished.”

Both A.6473 and A.6479 have been referred to the Veterans’ Affairs Committee. DiPietro is encouraging those who support the bills to contact Assemblyman Michael Benedetto, the Chair of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, at benedettom@assembly.state.ny.us in order to get the bills to the floor for a vote.
