DiPietro To Co-Host Regional Meeting On NY SAFE Act
Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora) will be participating in a legislative meeting this Friday on the implementation of the NY SAFE Act. The event is being hosted by Assemblyman Michael Montesano (R,I,C-Glen Head), the Ranking Minority Member of the Legislative Oversight Committee, and will feature members of the Western New York Assembly Minority Delegation.
“We have seen across-the-board confusion on just how this law will be enforced,” DiPietro said. “At this event, we will be gathering information from local officials as well as medical professionals and firearm enthusiasts in order to provide greater insight on the ways in which the SAFE Act will affect the lives of the citizens of our community.”
The legislative meeting will take place Friday, June 7, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The event will be held in the Amherst Town Hall at 5583 Main Street in Williamsville. Assemblyman DiPietro will be joined by Assemblyman Montesano, Assemblyman Raymond Walter (R,C,I-Amherst), Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C,I-Batavia), and Assemblywoman Jane Corwin (R,C,I-Clarence). The legislators will be hearing testimony from invited local officials regarding their experiences and challenges implementing the NY SAFE Act.
