Freedom’s Knocking: DiPietro And Advocates Hand Deliver Signed SAFE Act Petitions To Governor
Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora) and Senator Kathy Marchione (R,C-Halfmoon) were joined by the signatories of their petitions against the NY SAFE Act in Albany today to hand deliver the petitions directly to the governor’s Executive Chamber. Over 500 people joined the legislators at the event which ended in a rally hosted by SCOPE outside of the State Capitol.
“We’ve done rallies, we’ve collected signatures, and now we’ve walked directly to the governor’s door with supporters of the Second Amendment,” DiPietro said. “We the people have had enough of our rights being stripped away, and we’ll get the governor’s attention by showing up at his door. I was a proud no vote against this law, and I will continue to fight for the Constitution and for the Second Amendment until we finally repeal the SAFE Act.”
In another effort to repeal the new gun control laws, Assemblyman DiPietro authored Assembly Bill 6238, which would authorize a full repeal of the New York SAFE Act. The bill has been picked up in the State Senate by Senator Marchione.
