BINGHAMTON - Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo (D-Endwell) announced today that the New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators is now accepting applications throughout New York State for two athletic scholarships at $1,500 each and two academic scholarships at $1,500 each. Assemblywoman Lupardo is a member of the Scholarship Committee.

"Our conference is very proud of our role in promoting higher education and assisting students in reaching their academic goals and full potential for future success and I encourage area students to apply for these prestigious scholarships," Lupardo said.

Current or future college students who are New York State residents are eligible to apply. Eligibility will also be based upon a student’s grade point average, dedication to an organized sport, involvement in the local community, interest in pursuing a higher education as well as individual financial need. All applications must be received by April 15, 2005. The scholarships will be awarded in June in Albany.
