BINGHAMTON – Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo (D-Endwell) will present her plan for Medicaid reform as part of a Community Health Forum, Friday, February 25, at the Broome County Public Library, from 10am-Noon.

Assemblywoman Lupardo is a co-sponsor of the Medicaid Reform and Tax Equity Act of 2005. The bill creates an ability-to-pay-based funding formula for counties paid for by the elimination of the sunset provisions of the income tax surcharge enacted in 2003.

The bill would provide Broome County with $20 million for tax relief. Statewide, the bill would provide a total of $2 billion in relief to all counties.

Citizen Action and the New York State Health Care Education Project are jointly sponsoring the Community Health Forum.
