Brabenec Accepts Surgical Mask Donation

Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (R,C,I-Deerpark) today accepted 5,000 surgical masks from the American Chinese United Care Alliance (ACUC). An additional 10,000 surgical masks and Personal Protective Equipment were donated to Orange County.

Surgical masks will be distributed by Orange County’s Division of Emergency Management to first responders, hospitals, nursing homes, medical facilities, rehabilitation centers and assisted living facilities. The ACUC, a tri-state coalition of more than 100 Chinese American and overseas Chinese organizations, has contributed more than $2 million to fighting COVID-19 since the outbreak.

“I would like to thank the ACUC for providing Orange County’s essential workers with necessary protection from COVID-19,” said Brabenec. “This generous donation will immediately be put to use by those who are fighting the virus on the front lines. The supply of masks and other protective equipment needs to constantly be replenished for our brave healthcare workers, so I happily extend my gratitude to the ACUC for its donation.”

The masks will be available for contactless pickup at Assemblyman Brabenec's District Office l at 28 North Main St., Suite 2, Florida, NY 10921. Appointments are required to protect the health and safety of all involved. To make an appointment, please email brabeneck@nyassembly.gov.
