Queens, New York – Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D-Fresh Meadows) met with members of the Port Authority Police Department’s Asian Jade Society to announce that she will be honored with the Pillar of the Community award at the annual Port Authority Police Department (PAPD) Asian Jade Society Dinner on Friday, June 13th. The award recognizes her longstanding commitment to public service, community empowerment, and advocacy on behalf of the AANHPI and immigrant communities across New York.

The PAPD Asian Jade Society, which promotes cultural understanding and supports the advancement of Asian American law enforcement officers, hosts the annual event to honor those who have made significant contributions to the safety and well-being of New Yorkers.

“I am deeply honored to be nominated for the Pillar of the Community award from the PAPD Asian Jade Society,” said Assemblywoman Rozic. “This recognition is a reflection of our shared dedication to building safer, stronger communities and standing up for justice and representation for all. I am grateful to stand with these dedicated public servants who put their lives on the line to protect New Yorkers every day.”

Throughout her tenure, Assemblywoman Rozic has led efforts to expand language access, fund community-based anti-hate programs, expand hate crimes training for law enforcement officers, and promote equity and justice for Asian American and immigrant communities. Her leadership has helped foster greater trust and collaboration between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

“Assemblywoman Rozic has always stood with the law enforcement community and with the communities we serve,” said Frank Conti, President of the PAPD Police Benevolent Association. “Her consistent advocacy for our members and their issues underscores our ongoing partnership. We are proud to honor her as a true Pillar of the Community.”

“Assemblywoman Rozic has been a champion and ally to our communities, standing firm in the face of adversity,” said Se Chao, President of the PAPD Asian Jade Society. “Her leadership has made a real difference in the lives of so many, and we are proud to recognize her unwavering commitment to justice and community empowerment.”

The dinner will take place at House of Joy, bringing together community leaders, law enforcement officials, and elected representatives in a show of solidarity and celebration of public service.
