Brooklynites, Community Leaders Come Together to Celebrate Inauguration of Assemblymember Robert Carroll
Assemblymember Robert Carroll (D/WF) hosted a community event on Sunday afternoon at P.S. 130 in Brooklyn to celebrate his inauguration as the district’s new representative in Albany. Over 300 neighbors, friends, and community leaders joined Carroll in the celebration.
Carroll said: “The bigotry and vitriol spewing out of the White House do not represent the ideals of our country. The people in this room best represent our American ideals, along with the millions of people who have spent the last days marching and protesting and saying, ‘This is not our country.’ My goal is to be the best citizen I can be while serving as your Assemblymember.”
Numerous local leaders and elected officials attended the inauguration ceremony, which was hosted by State Committeeman Josh Skaller. Speakers at the event included U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer, New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer, former Assemblymember Jim Brennan, Assemblemembers Jo Anne Simon and Walter Mosley, and City Council Member Brad Lander.
Kings County District Attorney Eric Gonzalez, Assemblymember Rodneyse Bichotte, and former Assemblymembers Joan Millman and Rhoda Jacobs also attended the event, which drew a crowd of over 300 friends and supporters.
