Welcome to my NY State Assembly website. This is the place to stay informed about my activities and I hope you will come back regularly for news about my work on behalf of the people of the 30th Assembly District.
I have just prepared a report about recent activities in the Assembly and some of my priorities for the new legislative session that began in January. Click HERE to see a copy of the report.
Now in my 17th year in Albany, I have worked hard throughout my service to increase funding for education, health care and seniors and enact legislation to benefit workers, consumers and those in urgent need. I am proud to have also secured millions of dollars in funding for important Queens cultural institutions and for community organizations in the 30th District that provide vital services to our neighbors.
In this new session, in addition to my work as Chair of the Assembly Committee on Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports Development, I am also now a member of the Rules Committee and the Ways and Means Committee, two of the most influential committees in the Assembly. These senior leadership positions give me extra opportunity to improve the economy of our city and state, as well as the quality of life of residents of our 30th Assembly District.
As always, I welcome you to contact my office for my help with a community problem or issue.
Margaret M. Markey
Member of Assembly
30th District, Queens
