Assemblywoman Jacobs Honors Deputy Inspector Corey Pegues for Service to Flatbush
March 1, 2012

Assemblywoman Jacobs recently recognized the first African American Commanding Officer of the 67th Precinct "as one of Brooklyn's finest."

Deputy Inspector Pegues, who is retiring after four years of service to Flatbush, received a citation from the Assemblywoman for his leadership in the community. The citation was presented by Ms. Jacobs' Community Liaison Ed Powell at the monthly meeting of Community Board 17.

Prior to his service in Flatbush, Pegues served on several precincts throughout New York City where he rapidly climbed the ranks of the police force until he was promoted to Deputy Inspector in May 2008. A month later, Pegues was transferred to Flatbush, where he served as Commanding Officer until now.

"Inspector Pegues has been a tremendous asset to the Flatbush community," said Assemblywoman Jacobs. "We will certainly miss the Deputy Inspector but are so grateful for his many years of service that helped make Flatbush a safer place."
