After lengthy advocacy, I am thrilled to announce that the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) has agreed to restore much needed weekend bus service along the M8 line.

For many residents, the M8 is the only readily available form of public transportation. That is why I, along with other local elected officials and Community Board 2, have continually pushed the MTA to restore service on this valuable transportation route.

The MTA has pledged to return this service within the next 12 months but I will encourage them to start it as soon as possible. This is a victory for the community and a victory for public transportation.
