Board of Regents Acknowledges Flawed Common Core
February 10, 2014
“Last week I called for a two year delay of the implementation of the Common Core. Today the Board of Regents responded to the concerns voiced by parents and educators and announced their recommended changes. It is important to note that the Board acknowledged, for one, the flawed manner in which students with disabilities were to be tested. Students with disabilities deserve to be tested based on instructional capability and not age. If this recommendation is not addressed I will move forward and draft legislation that will remedy this issue.”
